I wanna take a look at the world behind these eyes.

I'd like to take the moment to apologize for the obscene delays in my icon set posts. I haven't given up on iconning by any means. However have run into a few technical difficulties, which have included, among other things, the violent death of my previous computer. Don't worry, the hard drive itself isn't corrupted, and the sets I was working on before have not been lost. They're just not connected to anything with power.

That all happened a while ago however. It's been a matter of getting all the data recovered & onto my current computer, and reinstalling Kubuntu. Neither of which I've gotten to.

To make lemons out of lemonade lemonade out of lemons, I've been working on some brand new, and hopefully spiffy, sets. However, given the current limitations of my "temporary" OS setup, it might be a bit before they're complete. Again I apologize.

In the meantime if any of you can point me to a way to accurately preview a directory full of xcfs (while using Windows, Kubuntu's native file manager handled it fine), I'd appreciate it. ;)

Well now that I've more access to excellent resources, my iconning has gotten... distracted, actually. I'm working on multiple sets at once, explicitly, on top of my general tendency to work on multiple subjects.

What does this mean? Well, it might mean some sets will be coming in groups, much like this batch but for diff reasons. It also means that I run out of space on my HD much faster, and more frequently. Which encourages me to get some of these finished with, so there's an upside.

Anyhow, backlog city still in effect. So I've decided to reflect that by splitting the list into sets I'm actively working on vs sets I have sitting around. Let me know which sets you are interested in, and I'll see what I can do about giving them priority.

I completely forgot to update that I'd put up the Penn Jillette set, so it's getting listed in this batch. Also a "surprise" set that I'd had reserved for a character concept that got lost in the shuffle.

I've been revisiting some of my icon backlog, and wow, I need to rework a lot of those. Which I've been doing, so hopefully I can get a few more sets out relatively soon. ;) I've also found some really nice galleries of people I've been wanting to icon, so I'm a happy camper.

I dunno, I'm finding myself frustrated with the icon sets I've been working on. A lot of them are ones in which I had to scrape up as many pictures as possible. The problem is, some of these pics -- despite having great expressions/poses etc -- are kind of shit to work with.

Except it's not all of them. I guess in some ways, I'm just sick of looking at the same old sets just sitting on my drive waiting for this or that tweak. A lot of the sets need work, but I just want to get them done already. I'm already looking at new subjects, and have been for months. So... Yeah. Which I guess would be fine if I didn't feel odd starting a new set with the wicked backlog I've got going, doubly so when the incomplete sets have a few icons I'm really happy with. And the cycle repeats. :P

In some ways, I think my style is changing, to boot, and I'm not sure it's easily reconciled with my older sets.

Also, for future reference: Sneakers has horrible lighting. I mean, it's great for the movie and all, but it's not iconning friendly. Just saying. I've been working around it, but the icons are taking much longer than I'd like.

PS: Oh violet_pumps... your icons are waiting.

I have actually been iconning, but no new sets up yet.(Belay that, I've posted one.) I've got some more lined up, however.

So somehow I missed when this happened, but in 2001 Gerardo Mejía revisited the concept of his hit of the 90's. Who is Gerardo Mejía, you ask? Trust me, you probably know who he is. You might have mistaken the song for his name. He's kind of like the "I'm too Sexy" guy that way.

Now it seems that this one is more serious than the other. But honestly, I can't tell for sure how serious he was for the original. Some of the Spanish lyrics were legitimately funny. I think. Again, hard to tell. Actually it's hard to tell now, how serious he is. Actually this article, kind of gives a funny, and a little sad view on a lot of that. One hit wonder-itis.

But, mostly, I wanted to give everyone a horrible flashback. Think of it as a "Where are they 7 years ago now?" Ahh, the 90's. I have fond memories of you. (And you know I was listening to this song like woah back then.)

Er... noone saw that. Perhaps it helps if I actually remember to work on debugging the things I need to. So I don't run into that issue again. :P Especially if the "thing" in question, makes automated posts to my IJ.

Re-watching Moonlight reminds me just how much I like the show. And how depressing it is that they cancelled it.

Not a lot to say, I think. I've got a few more sets I'm finishing up. Hopefully they'll go up soon.
